Nothing beats the thrilling experience of singing with a genuine Welsh Male Choir and, whether you were born in Wales or simply have a longing to experience the warmth, friendship, fun, and sheer power of a Welsh male choir at first hand, then joining The South Wales Male Choir's England rehearsal group is for you!
Do you have Hiraeth (a longing)? We have a solution! We have a number of successful rehearsal groups across Wales, and now we want to offer a unique opportunity for men in England to join our fantastic choir as well, so we are exploring the possibility of forming a rehearsal group for you to join in England - most likely close to the M4 corridor in Wiltshire, Berkshire, Gloucestershire, or Avon - the exact rehearsal location will depend on where everyone lives!
By registering your interest (no commitment required at this stage!) we will see what level of interest there is and whether there are enough of you to make an England Rehearsal Group viable.
Where will the rehearsal group be and when will it meet? Well that depends on you!
How will it work?
The rehearsal group will meet once a week on the chosen evening and will learn the current repertoire. Roughly once a month, all of the rehearsal groups come together for a full-choir rehearsal at Cwmafan, near Port Talbot, on a Sunday afternoon (existing choristers who live in England have a car-share rota which can easily be expanded!) You don't need to speak Welsh....
You don 't need to be Welsh....
You just need the desire to sing in an amazing choir!
And if you already sing in a choir, that's no problem either - many of our existing choristers sing with other choirs too. We wouldn't want you to leave your current choir.
About us....Côr Meibion De Cymru (The South Wales Male Choir) was formed in 1982 and has the mission of championing Welsh culture and traditional male choir singing.
We perform concerts all over Wales and UK, and tour most years so we can showcase the male choir tradition overseas.

We regularly perform in top venues such as the beautiful St David's cathedral, and this year, we have been invited to perform the anthems and provide some entertainment at one of the rugby autumn international games at Cardiff's iconic Principality Stadium. Perhaps you could join us and experience the amazing pre-match atmosphere, cheered on by 73,000 fans!
